Welcome to our passion project, we’re so happy you’re here.

We’re Alyson Charrette and Lisa Taylor, founders of LAKE+MAIN and lifelong friends whose journey together goes all the way back to high school (40 years ago..). Though we’ve both lived most of our lives in Kingston, Ontario, our shared love of family, the outdoors, and healthy living, brought us to South Frontenac.

It’s here that Lake + Main was born, inspired by our lifelong love of nature and natural skincare.

For decades, we both swore by the same non-toxic skincare products. They tackled everything from clearing up breakouts, to smoothing lines and wrinkles, to calming Lisa's sensitive, rosacea-prone skin, and kept our skin glowing well into our 50’s (so we’ve been told!).

The creator of these products was and is an essential guide and mentor in L+M’s journey. When she had to step away from creating her products, we missed them dearly. We knew that no other skincare would measure up when it came to the quality, effectiveness, and intoxicating scent of her products.

One day, while testing another product line that still wasn’t quite it, we realized we couldn’t compromise—we needed to continue her legacy.

It was a dream that we were almost afraid to speak out loud, but from that very first conversation, we knew it was our path. Our skills naturally balance each other: Lisa’s design, tech, and social media know-how, and Alyson’s knack for operations and customer relations.

Our shared faith in the quality of these products was so absolute that it carried us through any moment of hesitation. We knew we had something special to share with the world.

The idea of creating something on our own, with values and ingredients we believed in, felt like magic. A few short months (and MANY hours of work) after that first conversation, we inherited the product recipes that we adored, and launched our first six products for market.

We are committed to ensuring that our brand and products are always of the highest quality and that this never changes. We are only going to get better from here.

Originally, we named our brand “The Six,” a special nod to our families—there are six people in each of our blended families—the six staple products that we launched with, and our Canadian heritage (if you know, you know). But as our business grew, we rebranded to LAKE+MAIN, reflecting our sweet little retail location in the village of Westport, on Main Street, right on the lake.

Every step has felt like an adventure—sometimes scary, often thrilling—but we’ve never looked back. This is more than skincare for us; it’s a testament to our friendship, our passion for natural living, and our love for creating products that work.
