One of the questions we get most often is:
"What's the difference between SMOOTH OPERATOR and SCRUB?"
The short answer?
Both are designed to exfoliate, smooth, and soften your skin—but they do it in different ways.
If Your Skin Is Sensitive: Choose SMOOTH OPERATOR
SMOOTH OPERATOR Whipped Sugar Scrub is our gentlest body exfoliant.
Instead of sea salt, it relies on fine sugar crystals to buff away dull, dry skin while rich mango butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil melt into the skin. The result is an exfoliator that feels more like a rich body polish than a traditional scrub.
Because it doesn't contain sea salt, it's a great choice for:
- Sensitive or easily irritated skin
- Frequent exfoliation (2–3 times per week)
- Anyone who prefers a softer, more moisturizing finish
If you've ever found body scrubs a little too aggressive, SMOOTH OPERATOR was made with you in mind.
P.S. Don't tell VELVET Body Serum, but sometimes our skin is so hydrated after we use this, we don't even follow with a moisturizer...
If You Want a More Traditional Scrub: Choose SCRUB
SCRUB Sea Salt Body Scrub combines sea salt and sugar for a more invigorating exfoliation.
The sea salt provides a slightly coarser texture, making it especially effective on rough areas like elbows, knees, heels, and anywhere dry skin tends to build up.
It's ideal for:
- Rough or textured skin
- Dry patches
- Oily skin
- Exfoliating once or twice a week, especially before moisturizing
Like all of our body scrubs, it's balanced with nourishing oils and cocoa butter so your skin feels conditioned—not stripped—after you rinse.
When Should You Use Them?
Whichever you choose, timing matters just as much as the product itself.
The best time to exfoliate is after a warm shower, when your skin has softened. Gently massage onto damp skin, rinse thoroughly, then follow with your favourite moisturizer or body oil while your skin is still slightly damp.
Consistent exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells so your moisturizers absorb more effectively and your skin stays smoother throughout the year.
Which One Should You Choose?
If you're looking for a rich, buttery polish that's gentle enough for sensitive skin, SMOOTH OPERATOR is the clear choice.
If you prefer a more invigorating scrub with the extra exfoliating power of sea salt, SCRUB is likely the better fit.
Whichever you choose, the goal is the same: healthy, smooth skin that can better absorb the nourishment you apply afterward.
