When we first started developing RADIANCE Vitamin C Serum, one question kept coming up again and again:
Why do so many Vitamin C serums either irritate the skin… or stop working so quickly?
Vitamin C is one of skincare’s most studied and powerful ingredients. It can brighten dull skin, support collagen production, and help protect against environmental damage.
But it’s also notoriously difficult to formulate well.
Many formulas oxidize quickly (that familiar orange-brown colour), lose potency over time, or rely on very acidic ingredients that can leave skin feeling tight, reactive, or uncomfortable.
We knew we wanted something better, naturally.
That’s where the idea of dual-phase Vitamin C came in.
Two Forms. Two Functions. One Balanced System.
Instead of relying on a single form of Vitamin C, RADIANCE uses two complementary forms that work in different parts of the skin.
THD Ascorbate
An oil-soluble form of Vitamin C known for its stability and ability to penetrate more deeply into the skin. It’s often used for supporting collagen production and improving overall skin firmness.
Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate
A water-soluble form of Vitamin C that works closer to the skin’s surface, helping to brighten uneven tone and support a clearer complexion.
When these two forms are combined carefully, they create a layered brightening effect:
one working deeper within the skin, the other working closer to the surface.
The result is a more balanced approach to radiance. Less aggressive, less irritating, just steadily brighter, healthier-looking skin.
But getting that balance right took time. Because Vitamin C doesn’t exist in isolation. It's a key active ingredient that has to work alongside everything else in the formula.
That’s why the pH of the serum was just as important as the ingredients themselves.
A poorly balanced pH can deactivate ingredients like niacinamide, which is often included for its calming and brightening benefits.
So instead of pushing acidity for the sake of potency, we focused on compatibility: creating an environment where each ingredient could do its job without interfering with the others.
The Supporting Ingredients That Make Radiance Work
Vitamin C may be the headline ingredient in RADIANCE, but it’s far from the only one doing important work.
Like most things in nature, the magic happens through collaboration.
Here are a few of the ingredients that quietly support the formula.
Kakadu Plum: Nature’s Vitamin C Powerhouse
If you’ve ever looked into natural sources of Vitamin C, you may have come across Kakadu Plum.
Native to Northern Australia, this small green fruit contains one of the highest concentrations of naturally occurring Vitamin C found in nature.
But what makes Kakadu Plum especially interesting in skincare is that it also contains a rich array of polyphenols and antioxidants.
These compounds help support the skin’s natural defences against environmental stressors like pollution and UV exposure, while complementing the brightening work that Vitamin C is already doing.
In RADIANCE, Kakadu Plum helps reinforce the serum’s overall antioxidant support.
Snow Mushroom: Hydration from the Forest
Also known as Tremella mushroom, snow mushroom has been used in traditional Chinese medicine and skincare for centuries.
It’s sometimes compared to hyaluronic acid because of its remarkable ability to hold water, and ability to glide easily across the skin.
What we love most about snow mushroom is the quality of hydration it provides. Instead of feeling sticky or heavy, it creates a soft, silky layer of moisture that helps skin feel plump and comfortable.
This is especially important in a Vitamin C serum, since many brightening formulas can leave skin feeling dry.
Bearberry Leaf: A Gentle Brightening Ally
Another quiet hero in the formula is bearberry leaf extract.
Bearberry has long been used in botanical skincare because it contains a compound called arbutin, which is known for helping support a more even-looking skin tone.
Rather than exfoliating or resurfacing the skin aggressively, bearberry works more gradually by helping regulate the processes that contribute to uneven pigmentation.
In a formula like RADIANCE, this makes it a natural companion to Vitamin C.
Together, they support brighter-looking skin through multiple pathways, each working gently in its own way.
Why We Love Formulating This Way
In RADIANCE, Vitamin C may be the star, but Kakadu Plum, snow mushroom, and bearberry are all part of the performance.
Each ingredient was chosen not only for its individual benefits, but for how it interacts with everything around it.
Because when ingredients work together thoughtfully, the results tend to feel more natural.
Brighter skin.
Smoother texture.
A healthy glow that looks like it belongs to you.
